"I just had a Chinese lesson with the student today. The entire lesson was great since he is doing so great in Chinese. At the beginning of the lesson, we went over the homework we had from the previous lesson. The student did so well on the homework because he only made very few mistakes. I was so glad to see that happen, and then we also talked about something new. The entire class was great and I am looking forward to having our next lesson."
"Reviewed 6 person pronouns. Reviewed basic 3 verbs as predicates. Reviewed basic sentence structure. Reviewed question pronouns for is/are, who, and how many questions. Reviewed vocabulary in Lesson 1 through Lesson 5."
"Reviewed the simple sentence structures: description, comment, and object (re-explained the object structure), and I introduced the complex sentence. Had the student to teach back the family terms with flashcards, and we reviewed two pronunciation rules."
"Sentence structures, such as subject, verb and object were covered. Tutor and student practiced dialogue in Chinese. Student also practiced third tone."
"Student 1 and I reviewed and studied lesson 1 & 2. She learned new vocabulary words from lessons 1 & 2 (pronunciation and meaning). She practiced writing a few required words, and she also read lesson 1 and 2's stories. She is able to translate all sentences. Book 2 is a little easy for her, so we will go over Book 2 faster. Reviewed lesson 1 with Student 2, and she's able to read most of the paragraph. After we went through all vocabulary, she could read and translate the sentences. She practiced writing all vocabulary from lesson 1. She knows Pinyin, but she doesn't know how to use 4 tones. Tones is really important in Pinyin, so I started to teach her tones. She did a good job. I'll keep working on Pinyin tones with her."
"Student 1 and Student 2 learned to write Chinese radicals and speak basic Chinese phrases. The radicals are parts that make up written characters, and both students traced and practiced writing them. We also learned to say phrases like hello, good morning, teacher, student, and goodbye. Both students have excellent pronunciation in Chinese. We continued to review the numbers 1-10 and the four tones, and we also did matching and writing activities on the new phrases."
