Test prep for her upcoming unit Spanish exam.  She said that the test ended up being harder than she expected and that she's going to have to study more.  I am going to try to get her to work diligently on retaining vocabulary.  She has some holes in her elementary Spanish vocab.  We are also going to work on oral comprehension skills.

The student and I worked on two sections of homework in her text book, then we reviewed possessive adjectives and also accuative personal pronouns. Caroline was struggling with these two topics and so we made a set of flashcards. When she still had trouble sifting through the difference of them, we made a chart and I walked her through what each was used for. The book charts were long and confusing so we simplified it. I then quizzed her for 10-15 minutes using both the German and the English until she felt pretty confident. We also did a fill in the blank worksheet on modal auxiliary verbs to practice deciphering sentences with vocabulary she isn't familiar with and conjugating modal auxiliary verbs.

Then we read an article and organized a summary structure for the student to use when writing her summary for homework and for writing a summary later. She began by summarizing the article in one word, then five, then ten, finally using the ten-word summary as a basis for her topic sentence.

The student and I spent the majority of the time reviewing her science because she has a test tomorrow.  We went through key vocabulary words and concepts, quizzed her on her flash cards and did the chapter review.  She is planning on going through her flash cards one more time tonight and again in the morning to make sure she understands the key terms.  I had her practice solving algebra problems with negative numbers.
