The student and I met tonight to continue talking about an essay he has due in class next week. He has made great progress on this assignment, having successfully fleshed out his detailed outline into a decent rough draft. We plan to work on turning this rough draft into a final draft on Saturday. We also spent some of the session discussing the Era of Good Feelings and the rise of the Jacksonian Democracy. The student seems to be much more tuned in to this period of US history, and seems to have a better understanding of this period so far. He also scored an 87 on his last test, which is a major improvement from his previous tests. Altogether, I feel like he has really picked up momentum in the last two or three weeks.
