How can GRE tutoring help you?

Getting into most grad school programs requires taking the GRE, or Graduate Record Exam. The GRE is sort of like the SAT on steroids. It's a standardized test that evaluates your chances of try to succeeding in graduate programs. The test is usually taken on a computer at an official testing center. One twist on the computerized test is that for every question you answer correctly your next question will be a little more difficult. Being prepared for the GRE is essential for success. Let Varsity Tutors find you an expert tutor in Redmond, WA, with the experience, skills, and teaching approach to try to help you succeed on the GRE.

The GRE's questions are divided into three areas of knowledge - verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing. Your verbal skills are gauged with sentence equivalence, text completion, and critical reading challenges. You'll have to perform the quantitative questions without a calculator, and they will feature both quantitative comparison and problem solving inquiries. The analytical writing section requires two essays, one where you present and defend your position on a provided topic, and one where you analyze a written argument. Understanding all the information and skills for the GRE takes time. Try to maximize your productivity by calling the Varsity Tutors educational directors in Redmond to find an expert GRE tutor.

First meeting with the student. Basically just wanted to get a feel for how she was doing and how much Latin she already knew. We did a short translation passage and then went over some of the noun endings to refresh her memory. She would like to meet 3 times a week to review the material she covered last year in Latin because she felt that she didn't grasp it very well.

The student has a growing handle on polynomials, rational functions, and factoring to find zeroes. We focused instead on graphing a rational function based on vertical/horizontal/slant asymptotes, x-intercepts, and y-intercepts. From there, we reviewed synthetic division and the stranger problems for him, which involved complex zeroes mixed with real zeroes. By the end, we'd looked at everything to be on his third test, which he'll take tomorrow.

I introduced colors to both Student A and Student B today. First, we began by learning and sounding out each major color in Mandarin. Afterwards, they played a game online in which a person sounds out a particular color in Chinese and the player must select the color(s) -in the right order- out of a pinwheel of 4 colors. This greatly helped both kids visualize the colors and their phonetic pronunciations; however, it was much easier for Student B since he is able to read the English spelling. I also pointed out various things around the house and asked what colors they were.
