Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over how to create an organized, neat, and informative lab notebook with necessary equations, graphs, procedure, and data. We also did various detailed problems involving converting from metric and imperial measurements and from mass, length, temperature, and time."
"In this initial tutoring session we covered the concepts of accuracy and precision of data, and systematic and random errors. We reviewed data obtained in a group lab and determined relative error. We also reviewed an online assignment related to the topics. I suggested looking for online resources when the student comes across concepts that are not well understood or explained. Overall I believe the student felt that the concepts were clearer and she was able to complete her assignments."
"This session we reviewed some of the practice problems I assigned the student after last session and reviewed the major features of substitution and elimination reactions. We then covered the basics of carbocation rearrangements and why they are important. Finally, we began going through the chapter 6 reagents. She is to start doing chapter 9 and 10 problems on her own to reinforce her knowledge of substitution and elimination reactions."
