Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over stoichiometry, empirical and molecular formulas, limiting and excess reagents. She struggled with stoichiometry the most, but she got a good grasp of it before the end of the session. She had a positive attitude overall. She had practice material from school, so she has enough practice materials."
"We met for the first time on Friday. The student has been struggling with organic chemistry in the first semester, ending up with a C. Though he had worked hard, his test grades did not improve. We reviewed some first semester material--stereochemistry, acids and bases, and drawing mechanisms. We also worked on some alcohol reactions. We are hoping to meet for 2 hour sessions in the future--one hour of review and one hour of covering current class material. He seemed to be very enthusiastic and commented on how the session proved to be very helpful. Hopefully we'll see dramatic improvement this semester!"
"We worked on her chemistry assignment today. Since she missed much of the last several months, we've had to learn most things over again. There were certain portions (e.g. electron configurations) that she hasn't learned at all, but they still play into future chapters. We may need to backtrack a bit in order to fill in some areas. Also, since she has a bit of difficulty memorizing things, we have to review repeatedly, which takes more time. She has worked so hard!"
