Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"For this session, the student reviewed her math homework. She did a great job on her math test! We reviewed the two problems that she missed, and we reviewed how to do the bonus problem, so that she understood the problem and what it was asking her to do. We began lesson 55. We also reviewed her vocabulary assignment. She did a great job understanding antonyms."
"The student and I continued reading his book today. His reading skills continue to improve, and he's gotten much better about asking for help on words he's not familiar with. We went over distance formula and exponent rules today. He did very well with the material."
"The student and I continued our review of expanded notation of decimal numbers. We compared decimals numbers. We rounded decimal numbers. We wrote written form and standard form when given expanded form."
"The student and I continued reviewing math questions for the ISEE test he will be taking in the fall. It seems that the logic problems were easier to solve than the 'straight up' math questions. I believe that as we get more comfortable working together, it will become easier. I try to be as encouraging as possible, and I believe that there is never a question that cannot be solved."
"The student and I continued to work on multiple digit subtracting, single digit multiplication, as well as long division. He has an excellent grasp of the subtraction and multiplication. His homework is to practice fact fluency and doubles."
"The student and I covered factoring polynomials, using equations and simplifying radicals. Her attitude was positive. We continued to use both integer rules, combined with FOIL, in order to eliminate wrong answers. She made mostly 100's on the quizzes."
