Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on probability, probability distributions, and discrete vs. continuous variables. The student was struggling most with interpreting the formulas so we will continue to go over those concepts. Her attitude was great! Very motivated! No scores yet, but there is a test next week."
"We worked through problems that went more in depth in the process of calculating probability and how that can change based on various given information. All the problems today involved finding a Z-score. Like always, the student was very attentive and listened to my lecture as I worked on the problems on the whiteboard. He had a few questions here and there, but for the most part, he understood the concepts that I was explaining."
"We're working on regression. We worked through two problems. I advised her to finish reading the current chapter, and then attempt to do the third problem, and that we would go over it during our next session, and then start a review for her exam."
"What concepts did you cover specifically? We covered linear regression line, correlation, relationship between variables, and the different types of variables. What was the student struggling with most? The student was struggling with interpreting the slope and y intercept of the linear regression in context of the problem, but by the end of the session he seemed to really grasp the concept. What was the student's attitude toward the material that was reviewed? The student had the positive attitude toward the material that was reviewed. Did you see any scores/grades to note progress? The student mentioned that he has been doing well in the course. Any wins from this session? There are no concerns from this session, and the student seems to have a better grasp on understanding the regression line."
"Z-scores and approximations were the name of the game today. We even talked a bit about probability, which she found ease with understanding. We're all caught up with previous material, and now we're on to the new stuff!"
"Another great session! This time we worked on probability. We practiced some examples using probability tables in order to better understand the meaning of the calculations behind probabilities like P(A or B) and P(A and B|B). We also discussed independence."
