"We finished up by looking over some more vocabulary on health/transportation and a few conditional tense questions. He's been getting at least solid 80%-perfect on all the exercises we've been doing so I think he'll definitely pass the test. We can continue to practice though to make sure he's fully confident and even more prepared for it."
"Session 1 ACT Prep: We reviewed the student's practice test and set up the next 11 sessions. I showed her how to score her test and examine the results to determine what areas she was strongest and weakest in. English: 29 UM: 38, RH: 29 Math: 19 EA: 11, AG: 10, GT: 10 Reading: 24 SS: 10, AL: 15 Science: 22 Composite: 22 We went through her test and discussed the problems she missed. To review: 7 (165), 12 (166), 21 23 25 (169), 31 (171). For next week the student will read over the introductions on the test and math. She will also go over the remaining 3 sections from her first test and pull the questions she would like to review."
"We worked on his characterization paper for English. He finished it, and he did a good job on it. He then worked on an IXL module. He will be rereading a novel that he will be writing about on Saturday. I worked next with his sister. She did five one minute drills, which took her about three minutes for each. She needs to work on her speed. We also worked on factions. She read the book and I asked her some comprehension questions. We also worked on adjectives."
"The student and I worked with enthusiasm while we covered almost one half of the vocabulary words. We took our time with many definitions to understand conceptually how a word is used."
"Student 1 has started working on circles, tangent lines, and circumscribed polygons. She's doing quite well with it and only had a couple of questions. Student 2 had a review over trigonometry and didn't really have very many questions, only a couple of small set up things."
"We learned some business language, function words: because, so, if, even though, and even if in Chinese, how to greeting people on the phone, and how to ask the time, etc. The student needs to review the concepts that we learned in this session for homework."
