Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Our first session with the student was great. We discussed centripetal acceleration and how to use Centripetal Force with Newton's Second Law. Also, we discussed some of the problems she is facing and class and why she is seeking tutoring. All in all, a great tutoring session and a pleasure to work with."
"Today was our first meeting. Together we proofread his homework and worked on the more challenging questions. We discussed the difference between population parameters and estimates of those parameters. His son kept us company for the second half of our studying. We worked with formulas for confidence intervals and how to make hypothesis tests based on those confidence intervals."
"Today, we continued to work on word problems, which the student is improving on. We are also covering logic questions, such as the qualitative comparisons. Next week, we will check up on the reading and vocab section to see how the student is doing on those."
"We began by establishing the student's areas of most concern, which include geometry, linear equations, data interpretation, and sentence completion. We started with geometry, which included a drill/lesson in coordinate geometry. We followed this with sentence completion, where the logic of the statement was emphasized. We finished with general recommendations for the issue essay. Homework was given: continuing with vocabulary, reading a historical novel for comprehension, and reviewing general math concepts."
"We began with some overall planning for the GRE. It was a successful first session. The student was engaged and motivated to study and prepare. Our working relationship and schedule was established. The student should review the GRE's format, instructions, and general information; do daily vocabulary review; do daily math principle review; read op/eds for essay construction, and do a practice test. We covered the GRE's basic format/principles and some quantitative comparison problems."
"We completed a practice quantitative test that covered topics from arithmetic to probability. The student was eager to learn and completed the exam in good time. We planned future sessions, and I assigned him homework to be completed twice a week. Next session, we will review the homework and practice test to see areas requiring improvement. We will also practice test-taking skills."
