"We practiced Spanish. The student asked to practice spelling words in Spanish again. I said the words, and she spelled them out for me, and then we switched and I spelled words, and she told me what word I spelled. She did very well and did not have any trouble. We then practiced conjugating verbs. I have noticed in the past she has had a hard time figuring out what verbs meant once conjugated, so we practiced. We then practiced having a conversation as she said she had a hard time doing that in class. She did well, and we will continue to practice in the future. We also did a reading in Spanish, and we translated it together. She is doing very well with Spanish, and I feel she is much more prepared for class!"
"The student did very well today in his session. He translated Spanish text further from material that I provided in the form of printouts of articles. I have seen a huge improvement in his ability to translate verbs and nouns written in Spanish into English. Before he struggled with this but he has improved a ton. I do recommend that he get further tutoring because there is room for further improvement."
"Last week in school the student began a new chapter on the arts. We began our class by reviewing the new vocabulary for both pronunciation and comprehension. Her pronunciation is good overall, but yesterday she was adding extra letters and syllables. However, when she focused on the word she was able to correct herself. She will make flashcards to help with comprehension. Next, we moved on to her classwork/homework in which she had to use the comparative and superlative forms of adjectives to describe famous paintings by Latin artists. She did a very good job with this. However, she needs to remember to use the feminine form of the adjective with "la pintura" and the masculine form of the adjectives with "el cuadro." Finally, we read the next chapter in the mystery novel her teacher assigned. I had her translate the text into English to check for comprehension, and overall it was excellent."
"The student studied vocabulary, he did written review exercises, and took a couple of tests. I helped him to make some corrections and gave him explanations."
"We covered vocal pronunciation, grammatical forms of verb to be (see o estar), used flashcards and will start using the Business Focus Elementary by David Grant."
"Today we worked on chapter 7A on clothing. We worked on stem-changing verbs such as; pensar, querer, and preferir. We worked on vocabulary and reviewed seasons and weather by describing what clothes one would wear according to the weather. The student has a quiz next week on vocabulary and grammar points."
