Tutoring review by Patrick in Lackawanna, NY
Today, we worked on force analysis. The student needs more practice in order to improve his problem solving skills. In addition, he can benefit from some trigonometry review. I think it will be necessary to go over similar problems in our next session, so I will prepare some practice problems.

Tutoring review by Rachel in Lackawanna, NY
We completed the students extra credit math work. The packet focused on using mental math to solve multiple digit multiplication problems. They both did well, making only a few mistakes each. This is to be expected since it is a new concept. We had an extra few minutes when the math was complete, so I showed them a little online interactive that introduced Egyptian hieroglyphs. They saw how to spell their names with hieroglyphs. Next week, we will focus our time on studying Egypt in preparation for their test.

Tutoring review by Winnie in Lackawanna, NY
The student and I spent the bulk of our session working on a timeline for her Social Studies class. We went over how to label a timeline and how to set it up so that there is space for all the information that is needed. She also mentioned that she felt ready to complete her project on Egyptian homes and had research ready for her model and paper. We spent some time going over her homework, which covered ratio tables. I made sure that she understood that whatever multiplier was applied to one row of the table had to be applied to the other, and I gave her examples of word problems she may see in the future that she can use ratio tables to solve. Overall, she put in a good effort. She seems to have a good understanding of social studies, and although she initially had problems with filling out ratio tables, she seems to understand them better now. I look forward to seeing her in the new year!

Tutoring review by Justin in Lackawanna, NY
The student and I worked on a review sheet dealing with solving systems of equations (by graphing, elimination or substitution). She still did well with all the material and worked pretty independently. I showed her a few tricks in simplifying large numbers and picking which equations to use that involve the least amount of work. She had a few more problems left, but she assured me she can do them herself.
