Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we mostly talked about intermolecular forces - dipole-dipole, ionic attractions, ion-dipole, Van der Waals, and hydrogen bonding. The student seemed to better grasp the topics as we went on. We talked about molecular speed and how it is inverse square root related to the molecular weight. We also discussed using mole fraction to find a partial pressure in a mixture of gases."
"The student and I revisited acids & bases, and buffer solutions to go over some of the problems that the student has been struggling with. I had some worked out problems with step by step guides to cover the basics and different variations that might be a cause for confusion. We also covered thermodynamics: doing several problems with Gibb's Free Energy, Entropy and Enthalpy."
"We covered in detail cellular respiration to prepare the student for her test tomorrow. We covered glycolysis, the link reaction, Krebs cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation and the importance of the electron transport chain. We also covered the energy yield and the function of different parts of the mitochondria."
