Pre-Calculus Tutoring review by Anna in Ypsilanti charter Township, MI
The student and I worked on the combination and permutation method of selecting items in statistics. We also discussed dice and card deck probability problems, factorials, independent events, mutually exclusive events, and non-mutually exclusive events.

Pre-Calculus Tutoring review by Christopher in Ypsilanti charter Township, MI
I started the session by giving the student 4 problems that had to do with previous sections. The four questions were on rose petals, lemniscates, circles, and snails. We then covered converting polar coordinates to rectangular coordinates and vice versa. He did exceptionally well with those problems. I also covered the concept of SOHCAHTOA and used it to prove the equations to convert from polar to rect. and rect. back to polar. I will provide the student with a summary overview of what we have covered so far, with key concepts of every subject we touched upon. I also left him with several problems. These problems will further strengthen his ability in these subjects. Overall: great session.

Pre-Calculus Tutoring review by Kevin in Ypsilanti charter Township, MI
The student and I covered analytic trigonometry and sum and difference identities. Specifically, we worked on a dozen practice problems and reviewed for her quiz tomorrow. She is expected to memorize the 6 sum and difference identities and I feel that she not only knows them, but knows how to apply them. I didn't leave her with extra practice. She told me that she got an A on her last assessment that I helped her review for.

We worked on more derivatives by limit definition, as well as some review of algebra. She did really well. She needed minimal instruction throughout the session.

Pre-Calculus Tutoring review by David in Ypsilanti charter Township, MI
The student has a test coming up so we spent today going over her teacher's review problems. It was pretty easy for her. Like her last quiz, she understands the underlying concepts and how to approach the problems, but there's a few mistakes here and there. I think when dealing with the test she simply needs to remind herself to slowly read each given statement, and proceed carefully. It's hard to specifically instruct a student not to miss a sign.

Pre-Calculus Tutoring review by Maddy Grace in Ypsilanti charter Township, MI
The student is getting into some pretty tricky stuff! We went through his assigned work, and I'd say about the first 50% of it he blew through very quickly, which is great! Then the difficulty ramped up and he started feeling challenged. Eventually, he learned various ways to use the compound and continuous interest formulas, solving for various variables with various givens. Then we moved on to half-life and doubling problems, which gave him trouble because they don't specify initial values, but I helped him understand that when you're given a proportion the actual values are arbitrary and irrelevant. He finished the assigned work and we went over a couple of other related techniques.
