SYLLABUS

Session 1: Medical Terminology — Greek and Latin roots, prefixes, suffixes, and combining forms used to construct medical terms.
Session 2: Medical Terminology — Interpreting complete medical terms, recognizing documentation styles, and extracting meaning from clinical language.
Session 3: Anatomy — Anatomic fundamentals, structural organization of the body, and functional and positional terminology.
Session 4: Anatomy — Gross and microscopic structure and function, variations across patient populations, and anatomy as presented in medical documentation.
Session 5: Pathophysiology — Etiology and manifestation of disease including genetic, pathogenic, morphological, and functional changes.
Session 6: Pathophysiology — Acute vs. chronic disease distinctions, mechanisms of apoptosis, inflammation, and immune dysfunction, and treatment implications.
