My fifth GMAT tutoring session with her went well. We focused on reviewing the questions she completed in the Problem Solving, Data Sufficiency, Reading Comprehension, and Critical Reasoning sections of the GMAT review book. She has improved in the Data Sufficiency section and continues to perform well in the Problem Solving section. As we worked through the Reading Comprehension questions she answered incorrectly, I encouraged her to note key words in the passages, summarize each paragraph in a few words, and answer the questions in her own words before selecting an answer choice. For our next tutoring session, she will complete additional practice questions in the Problem Solving, Data Sufficiency, and Sentence Correction sections of the GMAT guide.

The student and I went over two questions from the study guide as well as several quantitative questions from a practice exam. The two big areas we covered were geometry (triangles, circles) and data sufficiency. Overall, she understood the explanations to the questions that I provided her with and I believe she's doing a good job "setting up" each problem. I would like to see her continue practicing the data sufficiency problems. She also seemed more confident this session and I believe she's making progress. We are going to meet again this Friday.
