Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered Spanish present tense conjugation of regular verbs, conversation skills and vocabulary. The student is preparing for a test on weather vocabulary. We used visual (drawing pictures to represent each vocab word) and auditory (repeating back each vocab word) techniques to solidify learning. He is doing well with these words. I gave him some online resources to continue practicing before our next session, which will be on Tuesday. His pronunciation, sentence formation, and spelling notably improved in the session."
"Today we focused on reflexive verbs and verbs like gustar which use indirect object pronouns. We first went over what a direct and indirect object is by using examples in English and then in Spanish. The student understood both concepts without a problem. After that we started creating sentences using encantar, fascinar, interesar, etc. He understands this but needs to practice more and memorize the indirect object pronouns. We also reviewed reflexive verbs like maquillarse, levantarse, lavarse, banarse etc. and practiced forming sentences with them. For homework, he had to come up with ten sentences using the vocabulary words and verbs, although we did most of them I assigned him five more so he can practice further."
"The session was a continuation of last session having different exercises to assess last session on subject pronouns (direct and indirect). The session also included part of an assessment that the mother asked me to design for the student in order to measure his strengths and weaknesses. The student finished a few oral and written quizzes, and did well in all. These were all based on the past lessons. The student was cooperative and showed progress and understanding. He was left with extra practice concerning the assessment."
