Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Topics covered: integrals and derivatives of trig and inverse functions, horizontal asymptotes, solids of revolution, rate of challenges; extra practice given; advised the student to make a study guide of common integrals and derivatives."
"The student did beautifully today. She has completed her lessons up to number 12 and passed her midterm with ease. She is learning and retaining vocabulary at a very rapid rate. She is also diagramming complex sentences and we are reading "Chocolate War" and other complex reading passages. She will soon complete her books and need new resources. She is a gifted student and a pleasure to teach."
"This was our last session scheduled before the student will take the ACT. He feels confident and prepared. We reviewed a sampling of questions he once had problems with, and strengthened some of the concepts we had covered in the past. He agreed to let me know how he feels about his performance after he has completed the test. Good luck!"
"We added more Greek and Latin word parts to our list. We followed that up with some synonym and analogy practice. We have been using ISEE tests to practice reading comprehension, because they are a little tougher and will help the boys with accuracy."
"We began learning how to sequence integers from least to greatest. Also, we started our lesson on adding and subtracting positive and negative integers. The student went through them a lot faster than I anticipated, so I will be doing more challenging problems in our next session."
"We worked through an English test and then part of a science. She feels confident in English, but we will spend more time on the rules, as there were some gaps. In science, we will need to focus on building narratives and pictures, as this will prevent her from getting bogged down in specifics or confusing formulas and units."
