"Today, I assisted the student with a timed assignment covering the calculation of areas of regions bounded by curves via definite integrals, as well as a worksheet covering the calculations of areas and volumes of solids of revolution about an axis. The student received a perfect score on his timed homework assignment, and we were able to discuss, debate, and work together to review the problems presented on the student's worksheet. We will remain in contact to set up the next appointment."
"Today, the student and I worked on derivatives and integrals. We went over using derivatives to describe the behavior of functions. This included finding critical points, finding local extrema, determining where a function was increasing or decreasing, determining where a function was concave up or concave down, and finding points of inflection. We practiced using the product rule, quotient rule, and chain rule. We also looked at applications of derivatives to position, velocity, and acceleration. We went over indefinite integrals, including u-substitution, as well. We will meet again tomorrow."

"Today, the student and I worked on reviewing for his calculus test tomorrow. We went over logarithmic and exponential derivatives, as well as business economics. The economics portion wasn't exactly calculus, but it seemed to be important for his class nonetheless. He is doing a really good job with the material, so I feel that he will do well on his test tomorrow."
"Today, the student and I worked on test preparation. We reviewed integration formulas, area approximations, and implicit differentiation. We also practiced the substitution rule for integration and change of integration limits. She is almost ready to take the test, but will practice some more on suggested problems."

She has a quiz tomorrow, so I asked to go over some challenging chain rule and product rule questions. She had good confidence at the end of the session. I allowed her to solve the problems, and we went through the ones she considered to be difficult."
