"The student and I met for the first time and started talking about what she wanted to get out of tutoring. We spent the time going over her first exam and talking about each of the problems. It seems like she knows what to do once the problem is set up."
"Today, the student and I covered measures of central tendency (mean, median, quartiles and inter-quartile range), concentrating on grouped data."
"I worked with the student on various rules with square roots and we also covered similar triangles. She performed really well, and just needed extra examples to see so she wouldn't get confused."
"Helped the student get more familiar with some Algebra II concepts that have been giving her trouble. Worked today on Pascal's triangle, synthetic division, difference of cubes and some other related material. I think I was able to help considerably. She seemed much more confident about her upcoming test after our session."
"Concepts: Finding Rational & Irrational 0's in Polynomial Equations Areas for Growth: Word Problems Attitude: Appreciative for extra practice and mentioned wanting to do more Extra Practice: emailed an Algebra 2 textbook that contains extra practice problems Progress: B on last quiz & is making less minor errors"
"I went over sets, Venn diagrams, the laws of probability, conditional probability/ independence, along with frequency statistics. The student has a decent understanding of the basic principles here, but he had questions on the conditional probability problems. I walked him step by step through a couple and recommend he practices some additional problems. In addition, I would recommend he practice more mean, median, and quartile problems."
