Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student seems to be grasping the material fairly well. After a few basic explanations, he is able to fly through the material. I am confident that with this new understanding, he will be able to apply his knowledge to a variety of problems on future tests."
"During this session we went over the homework I assigned. We looked at problems mostly on 2D and 1D motion. The student wasn't used to the calculus or vector notation, but once I explained it he understood. Overall, this session went well."
"The student and I began our tutoring session by covering topics on optics and images in mirrors. Most of the work was with regard to a web assignment that he had. We will solidify our learning on the subject next week."
"We covered light and electromagnetic waves. The student did well with the subject and had little difficulty with the concepts. The student is having trouble with the terminology and constants. This is to be expected considering the pace we have been keeping. I believe that when she takes the class, this will not be a problem. We will continue to work on this next session."
"We covered momentum, conservation of energy, and two-body problems related to the Atwood machine. The student struggled a bit with understanding the conceptual aspects of the topics and how to apply the concepts in problems. I used problems that involved old concepts and current concepts so she can review for her final exam. I also gave her a few Atwood machine problems to look into in preparation for her final. I saw how she did on her midterm and told her she has great potential to do well on her final based on her scores."
"We covered momentum, impulse, and elastic & inelastic collisions. We started by going over some homework problems. Then I reviewed the concepts and I pulled up problems online. She worked through the problems out loud so I could check her thought process and she understands the concept really well. I also pulled up some concept questions to reinforce the concepts I covered in the beginning. The last 20 min I pulled up multi-part AP Physics problems and she worked through them both. She did really well and I think she will do well on her test next week!"
