Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered multiplication facts as well as long division. As usual, she is showing continued growth week after week with her math facts, and she continues to bring high enthusiasm and energy to our sessions. I left her with a study sheet that will allow her to continue to grow and become a superstar in her class."
"The student and I covered multiplication of fractions, and we switched in and out between Spanish and English. She needed help with multiplication of mixed numbers and turning them into improper fractions, so we went over that in detail. She was a delight, and was very enthusiastic. I taught her ways to remember her fractions. She was pleased and more confident near the end of the session."
"The student and I covered numbers on a number line, converting mixed fractions to improper fractions. His attitude was great. He solved some extra problems, after he had done the homework. He also has some homework for our next session."
"The student and I covered one- and two-step equations. He had the vast majority of his homework finished when I got there! He has been working hard on making sure that he stays caught up."
"The student and I covered order of operations and combining like terms. She made minor errors when doing the arithmetic, which led to her to getting some questions wrong on her previous tests due to small mistakes. I suggested more practice and writing down her work in order to remedy those minor mistakes. She should work through the problems she missed on her test, and we will look through them in our next session."
"The student and I covered polynomial multiplication and factoring, and I gave him a tip on arranging his like terms to make them quicker to combine. We also looked at his social studies assignment and talked about the Great Depression. He had a firm grasp on the material but solved the problems slowly, deliberately writing out each step. We covered the domains and ranges of functions; whether a relation is a function; and sketching relations as graphs, tables, and mapping diagrams. We also worked through a couple of problems on solving systems of equations."
