Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued our review on the same subjects as Sunday. I asked him to work additional problems on similar triangles in his textbook."
"We did study guides for her last two sections of chapter 9. We then did problems from her review packet for her test tomorrow."
"We began covering usage of trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan) and their inverses to identify parts of a triangle."
"The student continues to do well as we work through the geometry course. Today we worked on surface area and he earned a perfect score on the quiz."
"We discussed the Pythagorean theorem and what it means. We worked on problems that involved the use of the Pythagorean theorem. We worked on visualizing 3D objects and solids, in a 2D plane. We discussed drawing a helpful picture vs an unhelpful picture, and how to tell the two apart."
"The student and I reviewed the rest of the review sheets for her geometry test, covering a variety of subjects, including properties of a parallelogram, similar right triangles, trigonometry functions, area formulas, and properties of a circle. We did a number of practice problems and really focused on the main ideas given our limited time frame. She was able to pick up on some concepts like similarity transformations and using ratios to solve for unknown measurements, and also identified areas where she already felt comfortable, like some of the trigonometry problems. It was a very long session and the student was able to stay engaged and motivated throughout. I encouraged her to look in her book for some topics that were not clear on the review sheet that we did not get to cover thoroughly, and also showed her where to find practice problems on the website. I wish her the best of luck on her exam!!"
