Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on the student's composition exercise due the next day using the vocabulary and tenses that he's learned over the past 5 months. The composition was an assessment of his Spanish class in school. Using the present, past, future, conditional, and subjunctive tenses, he wrote his answers to 5 questions on his opinion on the class - what worked and what didn't and how it can be improved."
"This session we did a third review of Chapters 9 and 10. We focused on imperfect constructions with 'se', adverbs, and familiar commands. We reviewed different processes and I drilled the student on the material."
"During this session, the student and I proceeded to the next chapter, which covers the Imperfect Subjunctive. We reviewed the various uses of this tense and how to conjugate verbs. After that, I helped her with her online and workbook homework. She had an easier time with the vocabulary in this chapter. The vocabulary continued to cover government terms. Also, she mentioned that she received a 'B' in her latest oral presentation."
"The student is a very bright young man. We covered a verb continuum for past and future tenses, covered passe compose, and cleaned up adjectival phrases. We conducted the last half of the lesson almost entirely in French. The student was given a chart for the verbs using tre in their passe compose form and successfully completed written exercises. His goal is to learn French to be able to speak with his mother and others when they voyage to France and Europe. He is well on his way to doing well with his goal, but must practice articulation exercises. He picks up concepts very quickly and has a bright, cheery attitude and is eager to learn. Should the student wish, I would like to take him on as an online student."
"The student made some amazing progress today with her speaking skills. We practiced learning -ir verbs, and also worked on her oral skills. She learned how to say numbers very quickly, and her accent has become more refined. Great job today!"
"The student was very advanced for her French I class. Tutor went ahead to other parts of the textbook to see what student needed to brush up on from previous knowledge such as greetings, food, ordering in restaurant, hunger, thirst. The student is too advanced to be in French I. Tutor mentioned this to mother. Mother seemed to think the student could catch up with tutoring with past experience and have student stay in French I."
