Physiology Tutoring review by Amelia in Gilbert, AZ
The student has a test on her next unit which focuses on different types of energy. We spent time discussing different types of energy, the law of conservation of energy, and the relevant equations. I asked the student to write them out on one piece of paper for us to use while we did questions together. We began by reviewing the worksheets from this unit that were given to her by her teacher. She seemed to understand the easier worksheets that focused only on concepts. After going through these, we moved onto the worksheets that focused on calculating energy and work. We went through the last 3 worksheets with calculations as well as the review sheet, and I felt confident that, after our review, the student was well prepared for her test; she had minimal issues while completing the worksheets. As her final task, I asked her to memorize the equations before her test.

Physiology Tutoring review by Rachel in Gilbert, AZ
On Sunday we went over her algebra video and she took her quiz. She got 100% on her quiz. We then watched her biology video and went over the concepts. She had a pretty good handle on this information. Finally, we went over her paper and made final edits. She has done a wonderful job on the paper. She got her biology test grade back on Monday. It was an 83% which is a significant improvement. On Tuesday we talked a little about the unit circle which she seems pretty comfortable with. We then watched two of her biology videos and then went over her notes. I spent time quizzing her on the material because she has a test on Friday. She knew everything from the video on Sunday and was able to explain a good portion from the two videos we watched today. On Thursday we will be going over the material again to make sure she is ready for her test on Friday.

Physiology Tutoring review by Rikke in Gilbert, AZ
We started preparing her for re-taking her chemistry class this summer; hence, she had prepared for this session by reading the first two chapters of her textbook, which provided a general introduction to scientific methods and chemical nomenclatures. We used the review question in the textbook to test and solidify her retention of the material, and I was happy to note that aside from clearly having both read and understood the vast majority of it, the student herself was feeling very confident and positive about her own ability to process the topics presented. She did, however, note that she had had some trouble with the nomenclature; she couldn't quite remember all the rules for naming the different types of compounds, so we agreed that she would practice this by doing a series of problems from the book, which we will review next time. We've also agreed that we will lay out a tentative schedule for the next 8 weeks, making sure that she is fully up-to-date on the basics of chemistry by the time her summer class starts.

Physiology Tutoring review by Brooke in Gilbert, AZ
Today we reviewed poetry, read about the history of cats, and worked some more on the states of matter. The student greatly enjoyed reading about the domestication of cats and connected it to his own pets. We worked on sorting examples of matter and he will complete a flip book on the three states of matter over the weekend.
