How can Physics tutoring help you succeed?

Varsity Tutors can help students connect with a physics tutor in Mesa, AZ, who can aid them in understanding the concepts of physics. If understanding Faraday's law seems impossible, then you may benefit from a physics tutor! The study of physics is the study of the world around us. Physics allows planes to fly in the air; being forced back in your seat when a car accelerates is physics at work, too. As is the simple ability to be able to walk without floating into the air. To understand physics is to understand the very mechanics of life.

An experienced physics tutor in Mesa can present you with multiple teaching approaches until they find the one that works best for you. Every student has a particular style of learning, and a tutor could work with you one-on-one in whatever style that may be. He or she will have had real-world experience using physics. Physicists know how to make the physics in your video game react realistically; they might improve fuel economy in our transport vehicles; or they can unravel the mysteries of space. Your tutor could help you find the answer to any question you may have.

Session Summaries by Physics Tutors

Mesa, AZ Physics tutoring
In our session, the student and I covered concepts regarding magnetic force and field and electric circuits. Along with this physics material we spent a short time looking over solving inequalities using mathematical induction. The student has asked to spend more time with finding the directions of the magnetic force, magnetic field, and current using the right-hand-rule.

Briefly discussed how to identify homogeneous equations, then discussed approaches for various problems relating to electric potential and electrical potential energy. Specific attention was given to identifying concepts needed for a given problem. The plan for next meeting is to continue discussing problems not assigned as homework in preparation for her exam on Wednesday.

The student and I worked on a worksheet involving electrical forces and fields. We were not able to complete the worksheet and she said she was definitely understanding how to do the problems and what the different variables represented conceptually after our session. So far I have helped her to identify what information/variables she is given in the problem which often helps a lot by itself to identify what equation is called for in a particular problem/scenario. She still had the remainder of the worksheet to complete and we planned on meeting the following Wednesday for test prep as she had another upcoming test.

Today, the student and I worked on Force and Motion. We specifically worked on homework problems and completed the online quiz questions. She will find out her grades soon on the previous test. While she seems to understand the concept when we talk about it together, she needs practice with setting up these problems on her own. With sufficient practice and confidence, she will understand them. We have decided to commit to two sessions per week. The next session has been scheduled for Wednesday.

We covered electrostatics (electric force and charges), capacitance(the relationship between voltage and charge to capacitance), and Momentum today. We also went through formulas of the area and volume of spheres and circles, as well as trigonometry. We were able to also look through some questions he had that involved a range of topics that will mostly be asked in his exam such as how to convert from degree Celsius to degree Fahrenheit or vice versa. The student had some difficulties with the pressures in hydraulic systems and momentum(impulse). After we discussed some problems in these two topics, I advised him to look through them again before our next session. It was in general a great session.

The student has a test tomorrow, so we talked about several topics that she has been having questions about. We talked about the general concepts, then I provided problems that we worked out on the whiteboard. Topics included stoichiometry, limiting and excess reagents, precipitation, empirical formulas, and redox reactions. She indicated that the next chapters she would be going over in class are the gas law and electronic structure chapters, so I said I would find some problems to work on during the next session.
