Physics Tutoring review by Roald in Lauderhill, FL
The homework we went over this week was on engines, efficiency, heat, internal energy of systems, and work. The student and I worked through the problems, which all relied heavily on the standard formula sheet that is provided for exams. He understood many of the concepts, though Adiabatic paths were somewhat confusing, given the explanation in the book. We agreed to meet tomorrow to go over some of the more cumulative material for his final Monday.

Physics Tutoring review by Orenthral in Lauderhill, FL
The student and I covered the concepts of work. She has a firm grasp of positive and negative work. The only issues were gravity work problems and breaking downforce into mass and acceleration. Sometimes it was hard for her to see that twice the mass at the same distance accomplished more work. We are nearing finals, so in the next session we will go over things in the study guide given to the student by her instructors.

Physics Tutoring review by Kevin in Lauderhill, FL
Today, we talked about resonance in both open and closed pipes. We discussed how the speed of sound is fixed in each medium and then spent most of our time on example problems. Since the student plays a musical instrument, he found this material pretty easy to understand! We'll likely meet on Thursday for some bonus time to talk about this some more.
