Kristine ...favorite when I was in school. I have recently tutored in both Math and Science. In 2010, I taught English in Taiwan to elementary school students. I am a good tutor because I am passionate about helping other people learn. Not only do I enjoy teaching, but I am also a calm and patient tutor. I want to help other people understand the material and also have a good experience while they are learning.

Courtney ...in Chemistry, Biology and Physics. My favorite subject to tutor is Chemistry because Chemistry plays an integral role in all of the things that we see and experience in our every day lives (not just in making things explode on the show MythBusters). As for my teaching style, I prefer to tailor my teaching style to the individual needs and learning style of each student that I work with. I recognize that everyone learns differently...

Daniel ...class everyone asked for help. I learned quickly how to teach others, which helped in my home life as I had a younger brother who was not so gifted in math. Through him, and his friends who also struggled with mathematics, I found that most people struggle with math because they believe it is too difficult. I believe by being a tutor and helping others learn I can impart my wisdom to the next generation...
Neil ...mathematics, chemistry and physics. But unfortunately, these are subjects that a lot of students have real difficulty in. I've discovered that I have a knack for explaining difficult mathematical/physical science concepts, so that virtually anyone can understand the material at hand. Real world examples in conjunction with visual aides seem to make my students' understanding soar. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy playing golf- Just don't ask me to tutor you in golf!

Amy ...the textbook and create analogies that help to make difficult material less abstract. I aspire to be a physical therapist since I will be able to combine my love for running and sports with my academic interest in science. Also, as a physical therapist, I will continue to educate others by teaching patients exercises to rebuild strength. I look forward to tutoring future students and learning more about their interests, learning styles and goals. I...

Rashida ...as well as undergraduate-level Mathematics courses. I really enjoy teaching Chemistry and I feel that my students really appreciate the interactive approach I use when teaching. From my experience as a student and tutor, I know that Science can be hard to grasp but when you have someone to explain the information in familiar terms, understanding is then attainable. By taking the time to understand a student's learning style and never failing to offer words...

Glody Joel ...subjects/concepts, and having gone through most of them, I believe that I can always come up with ideas to help one get pass through the struggle. Moreover, I have tutored for more than 3 years in several STEM related fields. My motto: Simply listening to the students' needs as well as offering step-by-step guidance, in addition to patience. I have hours outside of the availability posted, and I'm willing to discuss it anytime.... Ask questions about themselves, and try to understand what type of learner they are. Also, gauge their level of knowledge and, more importantly, their level of self-confidence.

Swati ...I like to break down difficult information into terms that are easier to understand and follow. For example, I like to break down scientific terms by their roots. In doing so, my students not only remember what the terms mean for that class but can also apply that knowledge in future class work. I also believe in using reinforcement techniques such as repetition, writing, and regular revision/quizzing of the subject matter so that the information...
