In eighth grade, I decided that I wanted to become a teacher. The learning process fascinated me and I wanted to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with future students. Upon entering the field of education, I quickly realized that teaching was much more than bestowing information upon a room of students, to be soaked up by their sponge-like brains. I came to understand that teaching is far more complex, demanding, and rewarding than I ever imagined.Like teaching in a classroom, tutoring involves more than academic content. Tutors must instruct and reinforce skills that equip students for lifelong learning and success. I received my BA in anthropology with minors in history and classics at Hunter College in New York City in 2007. A few years later, I attended LaGuardia Community College and became a licensed veterinary technician, which means I am an animal nurse!My academic interests mostly relate to animals: zoology, evolutionary ecology, paleozoology, social evolution, and phylogenetics. I also love studying history, and will always assert that nothing happens in a historical vacuum.In my free time I do a lot of reading and a lot of writing, on topics ranging from politics to science to kids' cartoons.

I have always tutor (since high school as part of my honors society club) and now i am currently tutor mathematics (Pre algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Calculus, trigonometry, Statistics and finance. Also as a native Spanish Speaker, i tutor Spanish. I am currently working my mornings for the stamford public schools as an assistance teacher. I don't only focus on improving the student in their assignments but also to understand the subject for the long term goal. Let's work together to improve your grades !

I graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Cartooning and Illustration. I dedicate at least an hour (usually many more) each day to writing and illustrating comics. In addition to the arts, I am passionate about languages. I have spent much of the past three years to teaching myself Spanish. I pursued my interest in Spanish and language learning by receiving my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This experience broadened my worldview and gave me a greater insight into language learning.I have experience teaching a wide range of students, from new learners to intermediate and advanced. I have worked with students one on one, as well as with larger classes with a variety of learner types. My first priority is student understanding; to ensure that my students learn everything that they need to succeed, as well as when and how to use what they have learned.I believe that, aside from its everyday practical uses, second languages can offer new opportunities and experiences. I am originally from New Jersey, and have been living in Connecticut for a year now; so far I love it here! I enjoy working with student's from all backgrounds and all ages. I come from an immigrant background so the stress for education is incredibly important to me. I graduated from Fordham University with a double major in Economics and History. After graduation I worked in accounting but I didn't find that line of work for me so I decided to pursue a career in law. I took the LSAT and now I am currently in the process of applying for Fall 2022 for law school.I found tutoring to be incredibly rewarding. I discovered my love for it when I had to help my younger family members as I was the oldest and I always the first to do something so I'd have to mentor those before me. I just find the best part about tutoring is when a student just gets it. When it finally all clicks.My philosophy is that I don't give up on students because I know all of them that come to me have the potential to succeed they just need a helping hand to lead them. Not everyone learns the same way it's why teachers and professors in a classroom setting can be ineffective. No one is incapable of learning.I have a passion for History and Writing but, I also really enjoy teaching the LSAT. I used to struggle with it in the beginning and I eventually grew to love the test and in turn I loved teaching the test. I know how stressful it can be but it is learnable and I intend to teach it.

I love getting others interested in science and helping students reach their potential. I am very motivated to help others reach their academic goals. I am currently a master's student studying Immunology, but I have a background in general biology and chemistry, too, with a heavy emphasis on molecular biology and genetics.

I have been a physical education teacher for 15 years. I also tutor students after school. I enjoy tutoring math and have been told I am great with writing. I even have some English teacher's ask me to proofread things or ask to help a student in get their writing started when they are having difficulties. I have been in my current position for five years as an adapted pe and health teacher. I work with students who have autism and behavioral difficulties. I have learned many different ways to deliver material to my students so each individual is able to learn in their own way. I am not afraid to look things up with my students if I am unsure of an answer because it ensures them we are learning together. I truly believe teaching the way the student learns rather than making the student learn to a specific teacher style is what allows a rapport to be built and ensures success.
