"The student and I continued working on English today. She took two practice exams (math and English) in the past few days. On average, she scored around a 19 or 20. With the English, I had her go and correct all of the problems she got wrong. On almost all of them, she got the right answer the second time around. I'm not sure if she is just psyching herself out, but I told her to take another test and to not worry about the time. She just needs to focus and utilize her knowledge."
"The student and I went over the reading and verbal practice sections she had recently completed. She's doing a good job of applying strategies and reading through answer choices. She was able to answer all but the last two reading questions within the allotted time, but is having timing difficulties on the verbal section. We discussed ways to cut down on the time for each question and targeted vocab studying strategies (look for roots in the middle of long words for example)."
"The student had some geometry test corrections to complete, and then an assignment on volumes and surface areas of cones. The material is easy for him, but the more complicated word problems require some interpretation."
"Made notecards for ten more morphemes before moving forward in math to adding and subtracting with different denominators. Although the student remembered what to do, she needs work on the signs of the numbers."
"The student and I worked online to do research and to draft an outline for the term paper in her Parent Interactions course. We worked really efficiently to find sources and draft ideas, so it was a great session overall."
"The student and I covered all of the Spanish irregular verbs. I gave him examples of each type of irregular, such as stem changing, root changing, family verbs, etc. As of now, we've gone over regular and irregular verbs in most tenses. Now, we will focus on vocab, so he can utilize his knowledge of verbs and actually put sentences together."
