Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student worked hard on trig for the session, requiring only a little direction at the beginning to refresh his memory of the process. He did struggle a bit with graphing but seemed to do better as the session progressed. He just needs to continue to practice the processes outside of class."
"The student worked on algebra expression, which is a new concept for him completely, and cursive writing. The math was not difficult for him, and we will continue to work on this concept. He is showing great improvement in his cursive writing and practicing free hand."
"The student worked on her new homework packet, which went over graphing polynomials, adding and subtracting polynomials, and working with exponents. I reviewed the lessons with her, and then she completed the practice problems. She got 42/50 on her previous exam, which we were very happy with."
"The student worked on her spiral review with me tonight. She completed some problems by herself, which she did well on. She struggled a little with the multiplication of 3x2 digits, which is the same topic being covered in class right now. We practiced the area method, partial products, and standard algorithm. The partial products were the most difficult for her with the 3x2 digit multiplication."
"The student worked on his daily math homework which consisted of multi-step word problems and algebraic equations. He worked extremely hard and listened very intently. He showed his work, and I pointed out key words that would help him when finishing multi-step problems on his own. He underlined, circled, and put a star or box next to key words. I tried to show him how pictures can sometimes help when solving word problems. The student does understand many math concepts. We will also continue to work on long division, multiplication tables, and place value."
"The student worked on his language arts and mathematics homework. He needed some help with the concepts covered on the language arts homework, covering simple and complete subjects and predicates. He understood the definitions of a noun and verb. While reading, he did well with word recognition and fluency. He also performed well on mathematics. He does well with basic mathematical computation."
