Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered implicit differentiation and the chain rule. She understands it all very well and does very well with the algebra. She was just unsure of a few conceptual things but was correct when she guessed at them. With a little more practice, she'll be golden for her quiz on Tuesday. We are possibly having another meeting on Monday if she deems it necessary."
"The student and I covered inequalities and quadratics. She struggled with transformations, but we discussed strategies like using the graphing calculator and making a table of values. She had a positive attitude and asked questions when she needed further clarification."
"The student and I covered integration by disk/ washer and cylinder methods. We also discussed any gaps that she might have from taking precalc over the summer, and how we would go about that if they would come up."
"The student and I covered integration by parts, u-substitution, trig substitution, and partial fractal decomposition. She grasped all the problems, and just needs more practice with them, especially trig substitution."
"The student and I covered least-squares regression lines and interpreting intercepts and slope, and correlation coefficient vs. the coefficient of determination. She is definitely prepared for her test tomorrow!"
"The student and I covered long division (by one- and two-digit numbers), multiplication, and mixed word problems. She showed a marked improvement in her division skills compared to last week. She has a good grasp of the basic rules and steps for division. She did well with identifying what operation was needed in the word problems, and got most of the answers correct. She did well with one by one, one by two, and one by three digit multiplication. We then worked on a few division Sudoku puzzles, and she was able to quickly comprehend the rules and finish several on her own. She remained motivated, engaged, and focused throughout the session."
