Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we covered linear and exponential functions as well as how to create formulae that allows for one to deduce values from given factors."
"This was our first session back from the winter break. Today, we were working on factoring polynomials. The student did very well with the concept and has greatly improved on the neatness of his work."
"Today, the student worked on slope and slope-intercept form. She had some trouble in the beginning, but by the end she was working on the problems on her own!"
"The student and I prepared for his Chapter 9 test in Algebra on inequalities. We first reviewed the whole chapter to make sure that there were no concepts that he hadn't covered yet. I then gave him a number of problems to complete to access any weaknesses he had in the chapter. We went over problems that he got wrong, mostly because of simple mistakes. We spent some extra time graphing inequalities with focus on shading the correct areas of the graph. He informed me that he got a 90% on this chapter test."
"This session was devoted largely to logarithm and exponential properties. The student had a quiz the next day and together we worked on graphing logarithms without the calculator and solving basic logarithm equations. We also worked on the properties of logarithms that he would be getting to in the following week such as the division and multiplication properties. We completed the packet that he had for review and I think he is in good shape."
"I covered with her an extensive algebra review packet based on (1) solving word problems translated into equations or inequalities, (2) adding and subtracting polynomials, (3) multiplying polynomials, and (4) solving literal equations."
