Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I worked again on the subjonctif form. We reviewed the uses of the subjonctif and drilled his understanding of the material. Then we covered irregular verb conjugation in the subjonctif and practiced that a lot. He did well today! I'm happy to see that he's got the rules of how to conjugate the subjonctif now and that he knows which irregulars to look out for. I feel like he's got a grasp of the uses, and I'm going to quiz and drill them again next session."
"The student and I worked on comparative and superlative in preparation for a quiz that he will get this week. We also reviewed the food vocabulary, and we did a lot of conversation to prepare his upcoming speaking test."
"We did a quick debrief of the student's writing/presentation assignment (conversation). She said it went well for her. We then jumped into studying for her Unit 2 test on Friday. I gave her a task to practice the subjunctive while I wrote out some practice questions. We did those and talked about the answers. We went over the harder verbs to conjugate in the subjunctive. We had a conversation using the vocab from the unit (descriptive adjectives)."
"We did a little review of conditional tense conjugation. I then decided to focus on reviewing material he'd covered for past chapters. We spent most of the session going over conjugation of pronominal verbs in the present and past tense, and when to accord or not."
"We went through several exercises using comparatives and superlatives. Also I explained a few reflexive verbs that are used to describe being hurt or injured. Finally I explained how to use "on" to describe what others do to me."
"The student and I continued to study for his test Tuesday. He worked hard on understanding que and qui. He's also good on imparfait and passe compose."
