Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I continued to work on her LSAT score by focusing on logical reasoning and reading comprehension. On the logical reasoning section, her pacing was a bit better. We discussed the questions she missed in detail and went over ways to improve on some specific question types. On the reading comprehension section, we tested a new strategy of doing only three of the passages. Her pacing was right on for this strategy, but we are still working on getting the accuracy up to the 90% we want for these three passages. We went over the questions she missed and talked about some ways to better identify the answers using the text."
"The student and I started by reviewing her performance on the RC section she did for extra practice. Overall, she performed really well. There were a couple issues with her last two passages, but we managed to resolve those during our session. From there, we progressed into a discussion of the LR section broadly (themes of an argument) before moving into how to answer specific question types. She has been performing admirably and seems to really be taking to the material."
"The student and I worked extensively on RC today. He has a good grasp of overall concepts. His confidence with this section was low after struggling with some questions, but it increased with the second section we did."
"The student and I worked on logic games. It seems like the single biggest issue for her is the test anxiety getting in the way of her performing as well as she obviously can. She is taking a test today (we met yesterday), so hopefully that goes well. I will wait to hear back about that, and then try and come up with some assignments going forward, as well as an overall plan to master the logic games."
"The student and I worked on one-to-one correspondence logic games. He is a visual learner who generally relies upon visual aides rather than text. On the LSAT, this is a bit of a hurdle. However, he is improving on getting deductions without diagramming every scenario and is experimenting with doing so more."
"The student and I worked on Reading Comprehension and how to approach each passage and question. The key is to be able to summarize each paragraph as you read along and understand the role it plays in the central message the passage is trying to convey."
