Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I worked with the student on online problems involving finding the critical points of functions and determining the intervals on which they are increasing and decreasing. We reviewed the product rule, quotient rule, power rule, and chain rule of derivatives to help the student solve the problems."
"Mean, Median, Mode- strategies and word stories to remember each. We did a perimeter review and area (square) lesson with the total area (bxh- which she already knew) but practiced how to actually figure it, and then subtracted area from within it. It was a concept that she will have the first few lessons in when she begins her Math unit on Friday. She did a great job and was able to demonstrate understanding. We also worked on multiplication of double digit numbers by looking for ways to multiply in 10s first and then ones and add them together. Spent 15 minutes converting area to fractions and reducing them."
"The student completed the computer section today, and began reading his first chapter book, "The Strange Museum." We are continuing work on the second list of the K-12 master spelling list."
"The student was able to complete the speedback assignment for one of her last chapters. She got an A and was very excited!"
"We reviewed enhancements to functions, string repetition, and further details about function and formatting. The student was attentive, active, and productive."
"We worked on a section of an ELA practice test, and the student did very well. We also worked on a reading instructions assignment to practice completing a task with verbal and then written instructions. We will continue to do practice tests as we get closer to the test date."
