Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we focused on math and science. In the first half of the session we focused on math. We briefly went over some more basic things that the student can expect to see on the geometry aspect of the test. We jumped into example problems right away. These included plane and 3D geometry examples. Also, I emphasized the importance of understanding the underlying concepts behind the geometry equations. With our continued work, I am confident that he will succeed in his test."
"We began our first session by covering the ACT Math portion. We discussed test taking skills, and I pinpointed some things that I believe will help the student in the long run with his test taking skills."
"Today we covered math and science and did lots of practice questions and timed passages. She is doing quite well and feels confident about these two sections on the admissions test."
"Today we covered Math and Science. The student is scoring very well in both of these subjects, however, we are aiming for a score of at least a 34 on both of these sections. The student should be able to reach this goal easily. He shows hard work and is very intelligent."
"Today we covered practice problems from math, English, writing and science. The student has improved on math and science, but needs additional review for advanced algebra and trigonometric identities. She performs very strongly on the English section; she only missed one of our practice problems today. She also is very aware of proper strategy for the writing section, and she should practice writing outlines on her own time. She should complete a practice test from every section before our next practice session."
"Today we covered the ACT mathematics section. We did it through handpicked practice problems that looked at various concepts on the exam such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and some precalculus. I left her with a set of tips in terms of timing and in terms of gaining an understanding of the concepts presented on the exam. For now, I think she has the full background due to being completed with the 11th grade and having completed precalculus; however, I do believe with more reading and studying, her score will continue to go up with a greater understanding of the ACT exam. The main note I'd leave her with is practice, practice, and practice. Problems and tests are the best way to get prepared and gain a mastery of the ACT math exam topics and questions!"
