The student is currently reviewing mitosis and meiosis because she has a test about this topic coming up. I know that she understands the concepts pretty well. That in mind, I spent most of the session quizzing her on the finer points of both of these processes. She still struggles with some of the terminology, so I think continuing to quiz herself on her own would help her out quite a lot.

The student's final is today. We met to go over a few final concepts and get in just a bit more practice before her class. We started with a discussion of latent heat, then moved on to a practice problem involving torque and kinematics. We went over it again and then redid it from the beginning. She was able to figure out where she went wrong before and correct her errors. She is nervous about the final but I feel she has enough understanding, and with that and her notes, I'm sure she will do well.

We reviewed heat energy, work, Hess's Law, and enthalpy stoichiometry. This was old material but since he has a test tomorrow, we did some refreshing. He was struggling with enthalpy stoichiometry and converting from moles to grams to enthalpy and vice versa. However, he started to understand it better at the end. We did not get much time to review Hess's Law or heat of formation together, so I left him with some extra practice in those areas. He felt comfortable with the material we recently covered.
