How can Accounting tutoring help you?

Accounting is an essential course that sets students up for success in the field. Accountants have the ability to use their skills in many different industries, some of which include, auditing, financial planning, and much more. However, accounting courses may be tough, and some students undoubtedly struggle to grasp the nuances of the subject. If that appears like you, and you would like to benefit from extra accounting help, you might want to work with a private tutor. Working one-on-one with an accounting tutor in Pasadena, CA, could make studying easier. If that sounds good for your needs, you can call Varsity Tutors today to get matched to an expert tutor.

Once you work with a tutor, you could gain access to a professional educator who is an expert in the field of accounting. This means you can ask all of your questions as soon as they come up, as opposed to being forced to waste your valuable study time searching blindly for those answers yourself. This is why, you will find that we can find you a professional accounting tutor in Pasadena to optimize your study time. Additionally, your tutor will work with you to determine your biggest weaknesses and then design a targeted lesson plan to try to help you combat them. That individualized attention is key to what makes studying with a tutor so useful to your educational process.

Session Summaries by Accounting Tutors

Pasadena, CA Accounting tutoring
On Sunday May the 1st, the student and I met for the last time before his AP test that is this upcoming Wednesday. During this session, we covered the entire year's worth of topics in two hours with at least one review problem from each section. We also quizzed over the "Calculus flash cards" that I made for him on the topics and formulas that need to be memorized for the AP test. After having covered every single topic that is on the AP test, I believe that he is prepared and ready to dominate this test as long as he puts in some extra effort to review over the next few days. Good luck to him this week!

We met one final time before the student's ACT test. We quickly covered all of the different sections and discussed the different grammar rules that would come into play during the test. In the past, discussing the rules right before a test helped a lot so hopefully on Saturday he'll have them fresh in his mind. English was his weakest section and he has shown a lot of improvement in that section.

Last night's session went great; We covered a wide variety of topics and began with the conversions of units. We then went on to finding the area and perimeter of different geometric shapes, followed by some statistical formulas which involved Interest Formula, Effective Interest, and Future Value. The student did pretty well on understanding the topics. We ended the session with logarithmic functions and exponentials. I think we just need to review these two a little bit more and the he should do well on these two topics.

For the first 45 minutes, we went over a practice critical reading session, and we went over the wrong answers and the blank answers. Overall, she shoes improvement from her last session. We then discussed about some specific strategies that she can use to spot the right answers. We then went over a math section, and we went over the wrong answers. We then went over a writing section, and I highlighted some common grammatical errors that SAT tests for. We then spend the last 30 minutes road-mapping a sample SAT writing prompt.

During this session, the student and I covered how to record transactions relating to accounts receivables and bad debts using the allowance method and the direct write off method. We discussed how to account for these kinds of transactions as well as their concepts (similarities and differences between the two methods and the reasons why either of the methods would be used).
