"The student had to write a cultural comparison between Peru and U.S. travel destinations and geographical places of interest. After completing the culture assignment, we logged on to an online source to complete an online vocabulary practice which included listening, sentence completion and definitions using the new travel vocabulary."
"I helped the student review and study for his end of the year exam. I made up 3 paragraphs about different topics that he will memorize for the test. We concluded the lesson by translating all the oral questions and making up answers. We will practice performing the oral portion of the test next week."
"Today we finished his Spanish final study guide and completed the grammar packet of the Preterit tense of regular, irregular, stem shoe verbs. We reviewed the formal and informal (Usted) commands as well as reviewed the negative (Tu) commands. I then helped him create his notes for the Spanish oral presentation. The lesson was excellent!!"
"The student and I were able to complete two online placement Spanish exams. The goal was to get an idea of the amount of content the student understood and to test the level of ability of Spanish content the student was comfortable with!"
"This evening, we focused on speaking skills and exercises. We began with a simple, casual dialogue where we discussed our days, lives, school, after school activities, summer plans, and so forth. I allowed the student to use our previous lessons and worksheets as "cheat sheets" so he did not feel like he was under too much pressure, and it gave him the luxury of using our vocab words and verbs to answer my questions. We set up a plan of alternating between reading/writing and speaking/listening going forward now that all tenses for a large chunk of vocab and grammar have been established."
"This was our first lesson, so we spent most of the time evaluating the student's skills. She is an exceptional student and very advanced for her age - she is definitely working above her grade level, covering concepts that are typically introduced to high school juniors or seniors. I look forward to working with her going forward."
