Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was my first session with this student. We reviewed slope intercept and standard form of a line. She completed a three page practice sheet on intervals. I reviewed some strategies that she could use to improve. She is a verbal learner and benefits by saying things out loud. It was a lively session and when he mother returned the student said she enjoyed the tutoring."
"This was our first session together. We mainly covered asymptotes and simplifying rational expressions (she is already at adding and subtracting these expressions), which the student has a good understanding of."
"The student and I worked on understanding and converting numbers into scientific notation. I taught him how to multiply and divide with scientific notation. We ended by doing a review of his times tables."
"Reviewed the student's homework from class. Went over mixed numbers and improper fractions in great detail. Left her homework on converting/rewriting mixed numbers as improper fractions so she could practice the skill."
"During my session with the student, we reviewed some basic concepts, such as factors, multiples, addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts. I also worked with her on multiplying decimals. I provided her with extra practice work on basic concepts to assist in preparing for the assessment exam, which she will be taking in a few weeks. I also gave her work on multiplying fractions."
"The student and I had another great session. She started by working on her homework, which involved using arm length to measure. She went around the house to find things that were close to the same length as her arm length. Afterwards, she asked to do a worksheet that had addition word problems on them. These word problems were double digit, and she was able to do each problem in her head without much assistance! I was so surprised that she was able to do such complicated math in her head. At the end of our session, she and I played fishing for 10. I was so excited to see her working with so much confidence. I'm looking forward to our session next week."
