Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we drilled for the tmj section and computed a score estimate. The student continues to improve."
"For this session, we reviewed both SAT and PSAT test materials as the student's PSAT is Oct. 15th. She completed for extra practice 2 reading sections and 2 math sections (PSAT) as well as 1 English section (SAT). She has no trouble with math. Her reading sections are improving. She worked through a timed Reading passage during our session and only missed a few questions. Her English passages went pretty well. We worked through 3 separate SAT sets of identifying sentence errors and talked about the different grammar rules (who vs whom, preposition misuse, and subject/verb agreement). She has 2 reading passages, 1 math passage, and 1 English passage to work through (all from psat practice tests) before our next session."
"The student will be taking the SAT this coming Saturday, so this was our last tutoring session. I gave him all the test taking tips I could think of. We spent most of the time going over one of the math sections from one of the practice tests. By the time we finished working on the math section, our time was almost up. He said that he would look at the chapters in the beginning of his prep book that give good advice about how to answer any math questions that will show up on the SAT. I advised him to go over the entire geometry chapter, which should hopefully help out the math score he will get. Finally, I also left him with a list of grammar-type things that he will probably see questions about, so hopefully he will be on the lookout for them."
