The ParaPro Test is one of the Praxis exams designed to assess whether prospective and practicing paraprofessionals have the skills needed to practice their profession. If you need a little help preparing for the exam, Varsity Tutors can refer you to an experienced ParaPro Test tutor to help you work toward your academic goals.
Here are the topics that you may review during ParaPro Test tutoring sessions, broken down according to the exam's rubric:
- Reading - 33% (Identifying a main idea, making inferences based on information provided, distinguishing between fact and opinion)
- Mathematics - 33% (Percentages, Basic Algebra, Geometry and Measurement)
- Writing - 33% (Using Outlines, Writing Introductions and Conclusions, Composing Thesis Statements)
You have 150 minutes to answer 90 multiple-choice questions using a computer-based interface. Of those, two-thirds test your academic knowledge while the remaining third assess your ability to apply those skills within a classroom setting, such as explaining how context clues work. You may take practice exams during ParaPro Test tutoring sessions to give you experience navigating the interface, minimizing the number of surprises on exam day. You can also develop a feel for how long your two and a half hours might feel like, enabling you to budget your time accordingly.
