Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, we reviewed all of the topics on the study list for the student's upcoming final exam. This included vocabulary on items around the house and the workplace, formal commands, as well as the preterite, imperfect and future tenses. The student earned an A on his last exam and has developed a solid understanding of each of the topics we covered."
"We discussed her study habits, her strengths and weaknesses in Spanish, her goals for the class, and her tutoring preferences. Then went over the upcoming projects/ tests, found themes across them for studying tasks and prioritized those. We reviewed use of preterite and imperfect and the conjugations. We practiced recognizing when to use which and translating sentences from English to Spanish. Then we practiced use of future tense and prepared outline for her oral presentation for her final."
"We practiced regular and irregular future tense conjugations in individual sentences as well as conversational context. We also reviewed the uses for the preterite and imperfect tenses for the upcoming finals and created review sheet notes."
"During this session, I reviewed the student's homework with her and gave her an impromptu oral exercise. She searched unfamiliar vocabulary from El Alquimista and grasped the general idea of the passages. She did well in the oral exercises."
"Great job preparing your homework and working on your lesson. Please review the conjugation of regular AR, ER, and IR verbs. Just pay attention to the 1st and 2nd person in the plural. If it's an ER verb, keep the "e." If it's an IR verb, keep the "i." Review the cultural notes on the Moors in Spain, especially in the southern cities of Granada, Sevilla, and Cordoba. You can take the AVE, or Tren de Alta Velocidad, and find yourself in the south of Spain under 2 hours."
"Greeted the students in Spanish and asked them about their well-being. Reviewed prior vocabulary. Conjugated the last group of irregular verbs using the present tense- Group 3. Introduced new vocabulary of pastimes & hobbies. Practiced grammatical structure with I.R. The lesson went very well, and I was pleased with students' understanding."
