Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, we went over some of the questions that the student had. These mainly included molecular stability through resonance, inductive effects, and atomic effects. She has a good grasp of the material, and quickly learns the concepts."
"The student and I covered more of his slides, which we got through a good portion of. Topics included Diels-Alder and Michael addition. He is reviewing for his upcoming test and has been preparing for a while now. He is understanding material well, but he just needs to spend some time practicing the topics we are covering."
"The student and I looked at Sn1/ E1 and Sn2/ E2 problems extensively. She needed help identifying the most stable intermediate of the reactions. She picked up the concepts very fast, and was able to complete most of the problems with minimal to no assistance/ direction."
"The student and I reviewed resonance structures, chirality/ meso compounds, and Fischer projections in preparation for her exam this week. She is making good progress in these topics, and is making good progress in understanding and being able to apply the concepts. She knows what she needs to continue practicing in preparation for the exam before we meet."
"The student and I went over addition reactions to alkenes and alkynes. I advised him to make flashcards to learn the reactions better. He was having some trouble with Markovnikov and anti-Markovnikov, but we worked on it in detail, and it's cleared up now."
"The student and I went over hybridization, chair conformations, nomenclature, and acidity rankings. He needed help with chair conformations, because he didn't understand the difference between axial and equatorial conformations, so we went over that in detail. He was actively making note cards for his final while the tutoring session was going on, which will benefit him. He has a lot more practice material to go over before his final on Monday, and he is going to go over his practice exam before we meet tomorrow. He was more confident about all the material after this session."
