"We covered chapter 2 basic chemistry for biology: atoms, elements, and bonds. I passed along organizational skills such first reading the chapter review and focusing on keywords to help focus on the big picture. I suggested that she read the course material beforehand, take hand notes before lecture, attend all lectures, and then go over the material daily. The first quiz is tomorrow and the first test is on February 18."
"We went over the problems/ questions from the worksheet packets that the student had regarding cellular respiration. We spent a lot of time on the process of cellular respiration, especially the Krebs cycle!"
"The student and I discussed how our sessions will look in the future, and I gave her the homework of looking through the study guide and putting subjects into columns of what she feels comfortable with and what she really needs work on. We also spent a considerable amount of time on immune system functioning and how an ELISA assay works. We finished up by going through the homework she had and discussing how vaccination boosts the immune system."
"The student and I reviewed the differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, along with lipids, sugars, and nucleic acids. We did a lot of practice questions, which I believe helped her a lot."
