Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The client is working on an understanding of longitudinal data analysis with and without latent variables. We discussed various approaches to setting up data analysis, research methodology, survey construction, and interpreting results."
"We went over the student's homework on probability distributions, binomial distributions, Poisson distributions, and geometric distributions. The most important thing to remember for this chapter is that geometric distributions should be used when you are looking for the probability of getting the first success, and Poisson should be used when you have the mean. Binomial should be used when we are looking at the number of successes overall. Cumulative probabilities are relevant when the question includes words such as "at most," "at least," "less than," or "more than.""
"It was a very focused session - the student sent me several MC questions about hypothesis tests and conclusions. We were able to go over every question."
"The student worked through some homework problems on confidence intervals and determining minimum sample size for population estimates. He will send me his homework assignments in advance for next week's session."
"We covered probabilities with coin flips. The student needed help with the concepts of multiplying probabilities and events. She had a positive attitude and I think that she understand the material better than she thinks that she does."
"During this session, the student and I started by looking at the topic that was giving him the most trouble, descriptive statistics. We looked in detail at how mean, median, mode, and variance/ standard deviation were calculated while focusing on the intuition behind the formulas."
