Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today in our session, we covered the "se impersonal." After some review and further explanation of what was taught in class, we continued onto focused practiced. As we tend to do during our sessions, I made the student several practice sheets while she reviewed targeted practice that I isolated in the book. After a further in depth explanation of the differences between the active and passive voices, I believe that she really garnered a better understanding of the tense as a whole."
"In this session we first went over new vocabulary relating to distance (in front of, to the right, etc.) and afterwards covered topics that the student had learned previously when I wrote sentences in English for her to translate into Spanish (i.e. the copulative verbs "to be", present tense verbs). She told me that since recently there has been a lot of emphasis on the past verb tenses that she wants review of the present tense as well as when to use the two verbs that mean "to be." She told me that written exercises have helped her out a lot, so I am bringing some to the next session."
"Tonight was my last session with the student and I am very excited about the progress that he has made during our lessons. Most importantly, his self-confidence is stronger and he understand the best methods and approaches for him to study a second language. As his schedule is very tight between now and the end of the year, he will be able to prepare for finals on his own. It has been my pleasure to work with him and his family over the past two years."
