Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has an Algebra final coming up, so we were working on his review sheet. The areas we reviewed are simplification of equations and word problems. The student is super bright and he catches on really quickly once he figures out what needs to be done, so when I would review how to do a problem, the student caught on. We have one more session before his exam."
"We covered linear equations and discussed the difference between linear and non-linear, as well as how a function is defined."
"The student's midterm exam is this week, so we reviewed the topics she felt like she needed to refresh the most, mainly rational equations involving positive and negative exponents."
"I worked with both students on factoring and its specifics, like the difference of squares, sum and difference of cubes, and factoring with a leading coefficient other than 1. Both of them seemed to be making progress, and are eager students who truly benefit from interaction with a mathematics tutor."
"We continued to review for the student's upcoming algebra exam, with additional emphasis placed on graphing quadratic functions. He demonstrated a good grasp of the concepts and showed improvement in completing problems reviewed yesterday. We also began reviewing some vocabulary in preparation for his upcoming Spanish exam."
"I covered the remaining parts of the student's final exam review. There were different graphing and proportions and general equation and inequality solving. He was having trouble with some graphing and solving inequalities, so I just reviewed the different techniques to solving the different kinds of problems. The win is he is able to solve different problems after showing him how to solve them."
