Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over how to solve systems of equations using substitution or the elimination method. We also discussed how to graphically represent the solutions as well."
"In preparation for finals, we reviewed some of the student's early quizzes and tests to ensure he recalls all the operations necessary. He's doing really well and has a good feeling about finals!"
"In this session we reviewed parabolas for an upcoming quiz. We also went over a review packet for her test on Friday, focusing mostly on completing the square method for solving quadratic equations. The student had some questions about the parabolas and needed some guidance on completing the square, but overall she did very well on all problems."
"Student A and I went over how to find the surface area of three-dimensional shapes and briefly covered finding the volumes of standard shapes such as cones, cubes, and cylinders. The student didn't have trouble with these topics. I helped her by checking her work and making sure she did her calculations correctly. Student B and I covered parabolas and ellipses. We went over the equations for parabolas and ellipses when given certain information. Student B seemed comfortable with this material and demonstrated a good understanding."
"The student and I completed homework using many different Trig Identities. We went in-depth on a lot of the identities and worked on getting used to rewriting the trig functions. We were very productive and had ample opportunity to review this topic! I was so impressed with the student's progress with these problems. She really took initiative and used her memory of these identities to solve these problems on her own."
"Today, I helped the student review for his exam on the unit circle and the six fundamental trigonometric functions. The student did very well in drawing the unit circle and being aware for the signs of each for the various quadrants. We reviewed negative angle and going around the unit circle multiple times."
